Michèle Barnett Berg

Michèle has more than two decades of international human capital consulting experience including executive coaching, leadership development, team building facilitation, change management, onboarding, organizational design, executive search, and talent assessment. She has worked with a wide range of organizations in size and industry, startups to Fortune 50, both in the private and public sector as well as with academic and executive education institutions.
Michèle began her career in recruiting and executive search. She worked for Korn/Ferry International, in San Francisco and conducted C-suite searches for the Venture Capital, Advanced Technology and Professional Services practices. She went on to work for two start-ups, fin-tech and software, spent some time in management consulting and then served as Senior Advisor on Human Capital to the Assistant Secretary/Chief Financial Officer at US Department of State during the agency’s Resource Management reorganization under Secretary Colin Powell.
While living in Switzerland, Michèle joined IMD as a career strategy coach for their Global MBA program and as a business case writer creating executive education program materials focused on leadership, innovation and governance. She has consulted to Hong Kong University of Science and Technology on the design and pilot of their MBA Career Strategy program and with Singapore Management University on various case writing projects. Most recently Michèle lived in Sweden, she continues to work with Stockholm School of Economics as a Senior Coach/Faculty Member for their Executive MBA Leadershiplive Program, which she co-created in 2014.
Working with teams to be high functioning and effective is one of Michèle’s signature strengths and passions. She is a dynamic and engaged facilitator that enjoys working closely with clients to define strategies, create goals and increase engagement and reach results. Michèle is committed to help clients reach a positive outcome through a pragmatic and structured approach that drives insights and supports them to make changes, take action and create lasting impact. She has designed and developed several leadership development programs in both academic and corporate environments and is committed to vertical development and experiences that accelerate learning and engagement.
Michèle has lived in 4 countries and coached clients from 80+ nationalities. She has worked with global executives at MIT’s Sloan School of Management and Harvard Business School as an individual and team coach and serves as a mentor and judge for MIT’s $100K Entrepreneurship program. Michèle uses a portfolio of behavioral assessments that include MBTI®, Predictive Index® (PI®), Strengths Finder, Career Leader and TKI to help individuals and teams increase their self-awareness, improve communication, collaboration and productivity.
Michèle completed a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, with a clinical emphasis, at the University of California, Santa Cruz. She serves on the Board of Directors of the Arts & Business Council of Greater Boston as Co-chair of the Governance committee and is an active member of The Junior League of Boston. In her free time, she enjoys being with her family, running marathons, cooking, visiting art museums and angel investing. Michèle is first generation American and a dual French national.
